In our Quest for Democracy (Q4D) series, the Formerly Incarcerated, Convicted People and Families Movement (FICPFM) is delighted to highlight Life Coach Each One Teach One Reentry Fellowship. This groundbreaking program is an exemplary model of mentorship for Kentuckians navigating the complexities of reentry.

Mentorship and Conversations That Make a Difference
Life Coach Each One Teach One Reentry Fellowship excels in leveraging mentorship and rich, insightful dialogue to support individuals during their reentry journey. This unique approach is bolstered by initiatives like the Communication Initiative, which provides essential support such as quarterly stamps to maintain vital connections with loved ones while incarcerated.
Their program also includes practical training, like voting engagement sessions, to educate on the importance of inclusive language and digital literacy classes that cover smartphone use, professional email etiquette, and online shopping skills.
The heart of the fellowship lies in its comprehensive 5-week curriculum, developed in incarceration, which focuses on life skills, family and community reintegration, and shared storytelling. This curriculum, along with Savvy Shabazz’s “Welcome Home Podcast,” offers profound insights into the reentry experience, highlighting both the challenges and triumphs encountered. Listen to these powerful stories and gain deeper insights here.
Nurturing Leadership in Reentry
Each One Teach One goes beyond traditional support systems by nurturing leadership qualities in its participants. The fellowship focuses on building a network of mentors and leaders, all sharing the common experience of reentry, to advocate for systemic change and empower communities.
